Discover the super tasty September 2025 edition

Get into this exceptional Coffeevine edition with a banging selection of coffees from six different talented roasters.

Even though we’re still in the middle of summer, here at The Coffeevine we’re already looking ahead at what’s to come for the rest of the year. We recently welcomed our new team member Kieran Lobo to the mothership and he help to ensure that our business keeps moving forward while I settle in Barcelona.

This will be the first time in over 10 years of running this business that someone else will be packing your boxes. It’s quite an exciting moment but also a necessary step forward. Kieran also helped me to pick out the delicious coffees for the upcoming September 2025 edition.

For this one, we picked out a few exquisite lots from two Spanish and one Dutch roaster, two new Global roasters and one decaf partner. As always, we looked for fresh, sweet and delicious coffees from very different origins and roasters, some of which you cannot find anywhere else in Europe.

Let’s dive into this edition and meet the people who will be sharing their coffees with us in September.

🇪🇺 European Roasters

Bluebell Coffee Roasters – Valencia, Spain

In early 2023, my family and I visited Valencia to celebrate my mum’s birthday. As is customary for me whenever I visit a new city, I looked up the best local roasters and tried to connect with them over a cup of coffee. Yolanda Valero Heredia of Bluebell Coffee Roasters took some time out of her schedule to meet with me.

Funnily enough, one of her team members had already been a subscriber for some time, creating a connection on which we could build. What’s noteworthy about Bluebell is that this roastery is completely owned and run by women who only source coffees from female producers. At its café in Valencia, Bluebell serves all of its tasty coffees alongside great food.

I invited Bluebell to send some samples for us to try because for this edition, I wanted to highlight some exciting Spanish roasters that have not been featured before. For its debut, Bluebell will roast an excellent natural processed Ethiopian lot from Bezabesh that has very floral notes of lavender and jasmin.

Un.common – Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Our dear friends from Un.common in Amsterdam have been busy building their fantastic brand with great succcess over the past few years. Their first café in Oud-West has been a staple on the specialty coffee circuit for years and last year, they opened their Un.Common Bar right across the road. At this new venue, they serve luxurious pastries, a more exclusive coffee menu and dinner service in the weekends.

We’ve worked with Un.common many times already and always love having them in our selections. For their latest Coffeevine feature, they will roast an elegant and fruity washed Ecuadorian lot from Mitad del Mundo. We don’t often have Ecuadorian coffees in our boxes, which makes this extra special.

Atmans – Barcelona, Spain

Miguel Lamora Bárcena and I have known each other for a long, long time. Back in 2016, he had a café called Atman’s Coffee Curators in Barcelona, which is when we first met. It was one of the best multi-roaster cafés in town at a time when Barcelona’s specialty coffee scene was really taking off. Eventually, the former two-time Spanish Latte Art Champion decided to focus on roasting instead. After closing the café, he taught himself how to roast and nowadays, he operates one of the city’s most exciting specialty coffee roasteries.

Funnily enough, when I told Miguel I was moving to his city this year, he offered me a space in his roastery where I could set up shop. In the end, I decided against moving the business to Spain but it was during those conversations that I said to him ‘let’s finally work together’.

For its Coffeevine debut, Atmans will roast a delicious washed Burundian coffee from Giku. When we cupped this lot, it stood out thanks to a delicate hit of mint on the tongue. It’s very clean and fresh. A real winner.

🌍 Global Roasters

Yellow Jacket – Cape Town, South Africa

When I visited Cape Town in 2018, I was really impressed with the local specialty coffee scene, which was probably the most advanced in the whole of Africa. In the years since, it has literally exploded and many Capetonian roasters have already been featured in past Global roasters selections. Now its time for yet another talented name to make its debut, Yellow Jacket.

This fine microroastery was founed by Sheewan Khan and doesn’t just stand out thanks to its colourful packaging with custom cartoon designs. It also has a strong social impact. Since 2021, Yellow Jacket has been bringing its delicious and ethically sourced coffees to the local market and in September, it will make its European debut with a really exciting anaerobic natural processed lot from Rwanda. This coffee is vibrant and fresh with a tropical tough.

🟡 Filter roast only.

WERK – Busan, South Korea

During a recent trip to South Korea, I met with quite a few of the country’s best roasters, including the legendary Pil Hoon Seu of Coffee Libre, the teams behind Strut and OAS Coffee Roasters and Hyeondong Park of WERK in Busan. South Korea has a really competitive specialty coffee scene and is home to one of only two women to have ever won the World Barista Championships, Jooyeon Jeon of Momos, a Busan juggernaut.

WERK is a stylish brand that gets much of its inspiration from industrial German design. With bright red on white colour scheme, it really stands out from all other roasters we have recently worked with. Its flagship café was very close to where I was staying and I had the opportunity to chat a fair bit with Dong while sitting at the bar and sipping on a delicious gesha.

It is a huge pleasure to be the first European coffee subscription to offer one of WERK’s outstanding lots in September and our first natural processed Peruvian as well. This fine coffee from La Esperanza is sweet, creamy and reminded us of strawberry cheese cake.

🟡 Filter roast only.

🌙 Decaf Feature

Kalve – Riga, Latvia

Since launching our decaf selection one year ago, we’ve had some really exciting coffees in our selections. Decaf has truly come a long way from its bland and boring beginnings. Gone are the days when drinking decaf was something to be ashamed of. However, it is also true that many roasters are still only offering one decaf and that they don’t consider this category important enough to source something really extraordinary.

That’s where Kalve from Latvia comes in. An old friend of The Coffeevine and winner of many awards, Kalve has been busy finding the most incredible decafs on the market and in September, we are fortunate enough to feature one of them in our decaf selection. It’ll be our first Pink Bourbon decaf, which really stood out on the cupping table the other day. It retained its juiciness and freshness without compromising on complexity. This coffee was a real surprise and we’re delighted to have it in our program.
