Over the past few months we have kept a close watch on new coffee making equipment that seems to be popping up in all sorts of places. Generally, Kickstarter is a very good one to follow as many inventors and entrepreneurs choose to seek crowdfunding over bank loans these days. Often rather successfully, I should add.

Yet, not everything that is being invented actually adds a lot of value. A few months ago we saw a Kickstarter project that was seeking $135.000 for finalizing and building the world’s first machine that would allow you to go from green bean to freshly made cup of coffee at the touch of a button. Believe it or not they got a total pledge of $681.461!!!! I could hardly believe it, yet their story was as convincing as anything. To a lay person this certainly looked like something out of Back to the future. Even I was impressed at first. But then I ran the idea by a few coffee roasting friends and they thought it was just one big marketing joke and I refrained from mentioning this project on The Coffeevine, until now.

You may have noticed that so far we haven’t spoken much about coffee equipment on here, partially because we focus more on the best places to get great coffee (for the time being) and because we’re working on the next stage of The Coffeevine right now but exceptions to the rule are to be made.

When we first saw this gorgeous coffee maker we simply couldn’t do anything but to drool all over it.
