In our [4/18] coffee box

Freshly roasted and delicious coffees from: Machhörndl, Per Nordby and Café Capitale

Can you believe it? We’re celebrating our birthday next month! Four years ago in April, we sent out our first ever Coffeevine box to just a handful of customers. It was an incredibly exciting time for us, transitioning from being purely a free blog to an actual business. And boy, what a time it’s been!

So at this point in time, we want to extend a very humble and loving ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s been supporting us since we appeared on the scene for the first time. You have made this journey the most exciting rollercoaster we could have ever imagined. Therefore we are also very excited to introduce you to the three talented roasters whose coffees we will be featuring in our upcoming [4/18] coffee box.

Truth be told, our team had a hard time choosing its favourite coffees and a lot of deliberating went into making sure we picked the right combination, but we’re very happy that Per Machhörndl, Per Nordby and Café Capitale will each be roasting a truly exquisite coffee for you and us next month.

Machhörndl

Based in the German city of Nürnberg, Machhörndl might have somewhat of a tongue twister name, but the coffees that founder Armin and his team source and roast speak for themselves.

From his humble beginnings as co-owner of green + bean, a coffee shop in Ansbach, to running one of Bavaria’s most renowned coffee roasting businesses, Armin has come a long way and over the years proved that he’s got what it takes to make his mark on the international coffee map.

We previously worked with Machhörndl many moons ago and it’s a real pleasure to bring them back for their second feature in our upcoming [4/18] coffee box with the following coffee:

Kenya – Ngurueri AA

SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 & Baitan – Washed

Juicy, sweet & lots of citrus

Per Nordby

Over the years we developed many very close friendships with roasters all over the world and Per Nordby from Sweden is one of our very dear friends indeed. This talented roaster from the Swedish city of Gothenburg is amongst the country’s very finest and his playful bags filled with exquisite coffees can be found in cafés and in the homes of coffee enthusiasts the whole world over.

Per doesn’t have his own café, instead, he focuses on sourcing great coffees and roasting them to perfection. This will be his third time in one of our coffee boxes and we couldn’t be more excited about the coffee he will be sharing with us this time:

Costa Rica – Alejo Castro

Villa Sarchi variety – honey processed

Bright, vibrant & cider-like

Café Capitale

Now, our coffee boxes wouldn’t be what they are if we didn’t regularly feature a newcomer. During the recent Amsterdam Coffee Festival, we were approached by Café Capitale’s founder Francois Lafontaine who dropped off one of his coffees at our stand with the request to please consider him for one of our future boxes. Now, let us tell you this: our experts were creaming their pants over this coffee.

The Chelelektu is a regular favourite of ours, having been roasted for us previously by Fjord and KB Coffee Roasters, but this time Brussels-based Café Capitale is offering us its take on this gorgeous coffee:

Ethiopia – Chelelektu

Mixed heirloom – washed

Black tea, peach & floral
