For the August 2024 edition of European roasters, we’re teaming up with three brilliant London-based specialty coffee roasters who have never been featured before. All of them have a strong commitment to honest and responsible sourcing and doing good for their communities.

OUR AUGUST 2024 EDITION INCLUDES:

  • Redemption Roasters (London, UK): Burundi, Izuba – Red Bourbon cultivar | Honey-processed (Filter & espresso roast profiles)

This is our first-ever honey-processed coffee from Burundi. Sweet and tea-like.

  • Sanctuary Coffee (London, UK): Mexico, Tejao – Typica & Bourbon | Washed (Filter & espresso roast profiles)

A wonderfully clean and refreshing washed Mexican coffee.

  • Conscious Coffee (London, UK): Colombia, El Indio – Caturra | Natural (Single roast profile)

This coffee is rich and creamy with a wonderful jammy texture.

Redemption Roasters is a prodigal business that started roasting coffee out of a men’s prison with the mission to help reduce reoffending through coffee. It has since helped hundreds of former inmates to build a new life by providing stable employment, access to support and a decent salary. Today, Redeption Roasters runs ten cafés in London and is widely regarded to souce and roast truly exceptional coffees.

Sanctuary Coffee was inspired by co-founders Marcus and Rhian’s passion for animals. After volunteering at a greyhound sanctuary and being asked to take one of the newest arrivals home for a sleepover, Marcus and Rhian saw their life’s purpose in sweet Dionne, their retired racing greyhound. They raising money to support animal sanctuaries around the UK by focusing on sourcing and roasting delicious coffees.

Conscious Coffee is the creation of Culainn Boland Shanahan and Lea Christopher who fell in love with coffee while travelling around South America. Meeting farmers and producers in places like Peru and realising what potential there was in helping their coffees reach new customers in Europe inspired Culainn and Lea to set up a new roasting business back in London. They also help non-profit organisations back in Peru to help improve the lives of farmers and now, they are branching out into new origins like Colombia. Their super yummy coffees speak for themselves.
