Take things to the next level with our June 2025 edition

For the upcoming June 2025 edition we're bringing you a selection of fantastic coffees from seven super exciting roasters.

New month, new Coffeevine edition. This June we’re going to work with a whole new set of exciting roasters from around the world to bring you a fresh new selection of delicious coffees. I wanted to put together a very diverse and pleasing set of coffees that includes rare lots, new species and classic beauties that you will love to brew every day.

Let’s take a closer look at the roasters and let me introduce their coffees. This is going to be a delicious one!

European Roasters for June

Nordbeans – Liberec, Czech Republic

Based in the small town of Liberec near the German border, Nordbeans is another great example of a fantastic Czech coffee roastery that is doing something really great away from the big city. Founded in 2015 by brothers Martin and Karel Kozel and Jaromir Hanzal who previously ran a coffee accessories store called Sweet City, Nordbeans stands for close relationships with farmers and is inspired by its close proximity to nature.

After a successful participation in a local barista competition, more and more businesses started reaching out to Nordbeans to buy their coffees and in the years since, it has developed into one of the major players in the Czech market. I’ve had my eye on Nordbeans for a while and I’m particularly excited that they will make their debut with a coffee from our friend Rodolfo Rufatti in El Salvador. This anaerobic natural processed Red Bourbon is vibrant and exciting.

Standout Coffee – Stockholm, Sweden

A couple of months ago, I was in Sweden for a wedding and I got invited to be a guest on the podcast of Standout Coffee, a small but ambitious roastery founded by two veterans of the Swedish coffee scene, Oskar Garberg and Alexander Ruas. They roast on a small Loring and focus on sourcing the most exceptional coffees from the most prestigeous producers. In fact, the first time they got featured was back in February of 2023 when they supplied a Gesha from Finca Hartmann for our GEMS release.

Now, they are returning with a fresh new lot from Colombian producer Yuri Montanchez. This is a Papayo variety that offers a classic and elegant cup.

HAYB – Warsaw, Poland

There are some roasters out there who are true regulars in our Coffeevine boxes. HAYB from Poland is one of them. We’ve worked with this colourful and joyful outfit for many years and every time they get featured, their coffee gets great reviews. HAYB is a pure wholesale roaster without a café. Instead it pours all of its energy into sourcing exceptional coffees and supporting a myriad of different non-profit organisations and initiatives.

Run by a charming father/son duo, HAYB helped elevate Poland’s reputation as a serious specialty coffee nation and HAYB continues to shine with its delicious and juicy coffees like the natural processed Red Bourbon from Gicumbi.

Global Roasters for June

Apollon’s Gold – Tokyo, Japan

Japan is known to have one of Asia’s finest specialty coffee cultures. As is the case with many other subjects, coffee brewing is a true artform there and I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing it first-hand myself back in 2016. That’s also when I started building relationships with Japanese roasters like Weekenders who’ve been featured three times since. Now, it’s time to shine the spotlight on yet another talented roaster named Yoshitatsu Chiba who runs Apollon’s Gold in Tokyo.

Since 2016, Apollon’s Gold has been on a mission to source and roast the world’s finest coffees and for this June 2025 edition, Yoshitatsu will supply our subscription box with a delicate and exquisite honey processed Yellow Typica from Finca La Lia in Costa Rica.

Traffic Coffee – Montreal, Canada

Canadian roasters have played a big role in our program over the years and I really love working with them. There are so many talented people across this vast land and Montreal is a bit of a hotbed when it comes to finding a lot of great roasters in one spot. So it is that we continue our exploration of Canada’s finest with a collaboration with Traffic Coffee, a colourful brand that was founded by a bunch of friends at a music festival.

Though only two of the original founders remain today, Traffic has stayed true to its founding priciniples, which revolve around building strong relationships with producers, honouring its place on Canadian soil and looking to make its coffees more accessible to a wider audience.

I’m really looking forward to be teaming up with them for this edition and to showcase their crisp and sparkling washed Kenyan lot from Yellow Diamond.

Decaf Roaster for June

A Matter of Concrete – Rotterdam, The Netherlands

In May, we already featured a Rotterdam-based roaster for our decaf selection and in June, it’ll be the yet another great name from the second city in The Netherlands that will do the honours. This time, it’s A Matter Of Concrete, the project run by Rob Clarijs who is a multi-award winning barista and roaster. Also, he happens to be a very dear friend of The Coffeevine and has been featured a number of times in the regular box.

For this edition, however, he will provide us with a really unusual and rare Laurina, which is a separate species of coffee. They say that Robusta and Laurina had a baby and that became Arabica. This coffee genus is known for its low caffeine content and smallish beans, so it’s technically not a decaf but a low-caf lot. It comes from Indonesian producer Supriyanto and it is the very first time that a Laurina coffee is featured in any of our boxes.

GEMS release for June

Native – Popayan, Colombia

Diego Bermudez is a wizard when it comes to specialty coffee. The Colombian producer has been creating true magic at his farm Finca Paraiso 92 for years and many of his coffees are so outerworldly that you struggle to comprehend what you’re tongue is tasting. Truth be told, these coffees are not necessarily always to everyone’s liking but Diego has shown the world that there is so much more to coffee than we know.

To achieve these extraordinary coffee profiles, Diego employs a very strict picking, sorting and processing procedure that uses precisely controlled environments to influence even the most minute element and extract incredible results. For years, Diego simply sold his coffees to roasters all around the world but with his latest venture, Native, he is offering a range of incredible lots roasted directly at origin.

For the 23rd GEMS installment, Diego and his team will roast for us a really mindblowing Castillo lot called Dragonfruit Spritz. It tastes like a tropical fruit cocktail in a cup.
