The internet has probably done more for coffee enthusiasts than anything else in the world. How else would we be able to get in touch with so many wonderful people, find out about their awesome coffees and get a chance to visit them while on the fly? Our lives are so fast paced these days that little holds our attention for longer than a few minutes so making sure you spend your time wisely is critical!
Since launching this blog and getting our name out across many channels we’ve contacted or been contacted a bunch of great people across the entire globe who share a passion for the best coffee in the world and now there is a fantastic initiative that helps you to make even more new friends and get surprise coffee sent to you from places you might never visit.
Andre Krüger, better know as Bosch, Thorsten Keller, better known as Lastguest_HH and Markus Reuter, better known as Roitsch got together last year to launch an intiative that made quite a wave. Third Wave Wichteln is nothing more than playing secret santa but with people you may not know from places you may have never been. The concept is so simple yet so fun that The Coffeevine is proud to participate this year.
How does it work?
You just sign up on their website before November 30th and indiciate whether you’d like to ship a bag of 250g of beautiful coffee to a stranger in your own country or abroad. The guys then go through the entries and give everyone a partner by December 7th. And before you know it, you’ll have a surprise package in your mailbox with a bag of great coffee from a new friend.
Last year the boys created such a wave online that major coffee websites like sprudge.com and dearcoffeeiloveyou.com helped spread the word and 362 participants from 25 countries took part. We think that’s pretty awesome and we hope many more people take part this year.
