We love welcoming back old friends, don’t you? It’s always a very rewarding feeling when someone who you respect and admire wants to work with you again, and that is definitely the case with Doubleshot from Prague.

This roaster from Czechia is amongst the country’s best and has contributed a great deal towards establishing and promoting the third wave coffee culture and specialty coffee in general in the country. Today, Doubleshot runs a sizable roasting operation and a total of three coffee bars across the capital, alongside its own training centre as well.

It’s a remarkable journey from the early and humble beginnings when the idea to start his own coffee roastery started to take shape inside co-founder Jaroslav Tucek’s mind. At the time, around nine years ago, he was visiting coffee farms in Central America to better understand the product while the other half of the founding team spent some time working at 49th Parallel Roasters in Canada.

When both parties returned, they got to work and soon after opened Doubleshot to a curious Czech public that was keen to get to know specialty coffee. In the years since they first opened their doors, Doubleshot managed to create a loyal following across the world, build meaningful relationships with farmers and green coffee importers like This Side Up in Amsterdam and create a brand that will stand the test of time.

We’re thrilled to have these guys back for their second-ever Coffeevine feature, this time with a gorgeous Rwandan coffee from the Coko co-operative.

Expect a clean and well-balanced cup with notes of stone fruit, red grape and starfruit.
