Introducing our wild February 2026 selection

Introducing our wild February 2026 selection

Take a closer look at the 7 fantastic roasters and their outstanding coffees that we selected for the upcoming February 2026 edition.

This box is full of Coffeevine-firsts. Let’s take a closer look.

Every month, we try to showcase a fresh set of super interesting coffees from a variety of roasters. Normally, this includes plenty of established Coffeevine partners but then, sometimes, we have months where we go wild and bring in a bunch of brand new names. February will be one such occasion.

The point is, there are many European roasters that you find almost everywhere. While this doesn’t mean they’re not great, we do feel the need to offer some more diversity; to highlight roasters that you cannot find so easily.

If you’re looking for the most complete coffee experience there is, then our Total Package will be your best choice. It’s a one-off box that includes all of our picks, including the decaf and GEMS lots. If that’s too much, then feel free to consider our European roasters or Global roasters subscriptions. There’s plenty of choice in our shop.

Right then, let’s explore the roasters and their coffees.

🇪🇺 European Roasters

Fuka – Belgrade, Serbia

When we talk about European coffee roasters here at The Coffeevine, we take a really broad view. Europe is a huge continent with an incredible diversity that is rarely seen as one big whole but rather compartmentalised into specific regions. But if we were to work only with a few select roasters from say Western and Northern Europe, we’d be ignoring a huge cohort of ambitious, talented and passionate people elsewhere in Europe who are doing truly outstanding work.

One such place is Serbia. Traditionally, Serbian culture is heavily influenced by Turkish/Greek coffee culture and specialty coffee was late to take off. Matija Ribaric of Fuka in Belgrade is one of the country’s true pioneers who, in 2022, decided to bring delicious specialty coffee to his home country. Originally founded as a market kiosk, Fuka quickly developed into a leading specialty coffee roastery that sources, roasts and serves fantastic coffees.

It’s our great pleasure to welcome Fuka as the first Serbia based roaster to be featured in a Coffeevine edition. For it debut, it will share with us a delicious anaerobic natural Maracaturra cultivar from Nicaragua’s Finca Bethania. This coffee is super juicy, sweet and a tiny bit tart.

Beanbank – Zürich, Switzerland

During a visit to Switzerland in 2023, I met Nikos Chalimourdas while doing a little coffee tour of the city. Beanbank, at the time, was a multi-roaster café brand with two locations. Nikos had co-founded Beanbank with his brother after the two had moved from Greece to Switzerland. They noticed that the coffee scene in the city was still lagging behind other European cities and they set out to change that.

In 2025, they added their roastery operation and have since been building their business both domestically and internationally. We’ve been wanting to get Beanbank featured for a while now and we’re super happy to welcome them as our second Coffeevine debutant in our February edition. They’re also the first Swiss roaster in many years to be invited as a guest roaster.

For their Coffeevine premiere, they’re going to roast for us an elegant, pleasing and utterly wonderful washed Peruvian lot from La Coipa. This is a Catuaí and Bourbon blend with a classic cup profile with hints of chocolate, marzipan and blueberry.

Platypus – Nantes, France

The third new European roaster to join the February edition is an upstart from near Nantes in France. Founded by Vincent Ménoret in the summer of 2025, Platypus is the culmination of his long-running passion for specialty coffee. As a former industrial engineer, Vincent has always been curious to understand the inner working of things. After having his personal ‘a-ha’ moment with specialty coffee back in 2018, he’s been obsessed ever since.

Names after the iconic and very unusual Platypus, the ‘duck-billed beaver’ that lays eggs, this roastery is all about showcasing specialty coffee in an open-minded and accessible way. In other words, trying to strip away the mystery that still surrounds specialty coffee to a vast majority of the public, especially in smaller cities and towns.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Platypus to this edition for which Vincent will roast a rather exquisite natural processed mixed Heirloom lot from Ethiopia’s Ismael. This coffee is sweet, delicate and slightly floral.

🌍 Global Roasters

Alquimia Coffee – San Salvador, El Salvador

I recently visited El Salvador and spent quality time with my friend Rodolfo Rufatti at his various coffee farms. To finish my month-long trip to Mexico and Central America, I had arranged to meet with another El Salvadorian coffee legend, Federico Bolanos, who is the founder of Alquimia Coffee. It was important to me to try and find a great local roaster to bring to the Global roasters selection for February and highlight one of El Salvador’s finest coffees.

What I didn’t expect was that Alquimia Coffee offers what can only be described as the most elevated and refined coffee tasting experience I’ve ever seen. During the two hours that I spent with Federico and his team, I was treated to some of the most exquisite coffee plant based beverages I’ve ever tasted, learned so much about coffee that I didn’t know (despite my +10 years of experience) and ended up taking home two of Alquimia’s finest coffees to choose from.

After coming back to Barcelona, I cupped all of the candidate coffees for this edition and picked a bright and super juicy Kenya cultivar – essentially a locally grown SL34 – that was grown on the slopes of the Santa Ana Volcano, which I climbed while in the country. It seemed very fitting.

Two Hands Full – Kota Bandung, Indonesia

The second Global roaster for February is a fantastic outfit from another coffee producing country, Indonesia. Founded by Stefan Setiadi Tanuwidjaja in 2013, Two Hands Full was greatly inspired by Stefan’s trips to places like Berlin and Melbourne where the coffee cultures had already blossomed and people were starting to appreciate lightly roasted and bright specialty coffees. ‘Why shouldn’t we have the same in Indonesia?’ Stefan asked. Rightly so.

As one of the world’s biggest coffee producers with a huge internal market, Indonesia was being deprived for too long of its own finest coffees. Two Hands Full, like others who followed, are changing this by offering exceptional lots from Indonesia’s finest producers. We’re lucky to get access to one such lot in February thanks to teaming up with Stefan and his team for this upcoming collab that is also the first time we’re featuring an Indonesia based roaster.

The coffee that we picked is a delicious Yellow Caturra anaerobic natural 120h processed lot from Wanoja. This coffee is vibrant and outspoken while preserving a fruity bouquet and bright notes of tropical fruit.

🌙 Decaf Feature

Calm – London, United Kingdom

The decaf pick for February will come from our only repeat roaster in this month’s selection, London based Calm Coffee Roasters. We worked with Calm for the first time in 2025 and are thrilled to have them back for a new collaboration in February. Calm was founded by Will Whiting after he and his wife welcomed their first child in 2023. Already during the pregnancy, the couple began to change its caffeine intake and to look for more agreeable coffees with reduced or zero caffeine.

Will, who was previously a civil engineer, decided to set up Calm in order to address a growing market for decaf and low-caf coffees. Together with Les Révélations and D stands for Decaf, Calm will form part of our quarterly rotating Decaf specialist roasters.

For this feature, Calm will roast a lovely natural processed mixed heirloom lot from Ethiopia’s Chelbesa processing station, one that we have featured countless times over the years. This coffee was decaffeinated using the Swiss water process. It’s mild, sweet and your perfect companion for every day life.

💎 GEMS Feature

Cafēn – Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Finally, our GEMS roaster for February is the result of yet another meeting that I had during this recent trip to Mexico and Central America. After reaching out to Cafēn a few weeks ago, I learned that founder Alex Gok was going to be in Mexico together with his Mexican wife and their toddler around the same time as me. ‘What a coincidence!’ I exclaimed. Obviously, we had to meet.

Born as a small brew bar in Edinburgh, Cafēn has since evolved into a classy micro-roastery that focuses on exclusive micro lots from the world’s best producers. When we talked about this collaboration in Mexico City, Alex got immediately excited about a variety of different lots and ended up sending us two distinct Geisha’s from two of Colombia’s most exciting producers, Wilder Lazo and Edinson Argote. Full disclosure, they were both so good that we decided to offer both of them as part of our lineup.

One is a washed Geisha that’s super floral and aromatic while the other is an advanced washed Geisha that’s bright, extremely clean and a tad herbal. Absolutely incredible!
