While you might think ‘Canephora, seriously?’, it’s important to understand that many factors are making growing high quality Arabica coffees more difficult. Arabica likes high altitude, rainfall and lots of other factors that give it its characteristic flavours.
Canephora on the other hand is very robust and constantly evolving, which means it’s much less prone to disease and can flourish in lower altitudes. This allows Canephora to be an attractive crop to a much wider spectrum of farmers in a lot more countries.
While Canephora is not really comparable to Arabica, it does offer its very unique characteristics and there are innovative and ambitious farmers out there who are turning this once overlooked coffee species into something worth reassessing.
You can buy this coffee individually, add it to an existing Coffeevine subscription or combine it with another one of our products.
