Great places to grab a cuppa Joe and a scrumptious brunch in November '14

It goes without saying that “brunch culture” is currently taking many European cities by storm, and Amsterdam is no exception. What has been a very normal thing in places like Australia and the US is fast becoming a very normal thing on these shores too. Naturally we love this development because it means that you can now enjoy a scumptious meal at almost every time of the day.

Yet, not all brunch places also serve great coffee and since that is a crucial requirement for us, we have reviewed some of our recommendations of great places to get coffee that also serve yummy food. Here’s our shortlist for November ’14. Got any more tips? Feel free to add your comment at the end of the page and bon appetit!

1. Holybelly – Paris (FR)

This wonderful and very homely brunch and coffee spot near Canal St. Martin serves up some of the best brekkie in town and everyone is greeted with a warm smile from owner Nico. The egg and sides are really delish and the coffee is excellent!

2. Exmouth Coffee – London (UK)

The guys at this hard to miss spot in East London are all about amazing food and great coffee. They bake almost everything in house and their brunches are also excellent. Coffee is roasted on site as well!

3. Tom & Serge – Dubai (UAE)

Dubai is full of glitz and glitter, which can sometimes get a little overwhelming. Nice to know that the city has a great spot where you can enjoy perfectly cooked breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Their coffee comes from local coffee roasters Raw Coffee.

4. My Little Melbourne – Budapest (HU)

Budapest is a city that’s changing very fast and the area around Deak Ferenc Ter is now full of great places to eat and drink. This little gem is especially cozy and serves excellent brekkies and coffee.

5. Bakers & Roasters – Amstedam (NL)

This Kiwi outpost in the Dutch capital has been serving great meals and coffee for a while now but their recently introduced brunch menu now also includes your usual favourites like eggs benedict and more.

6. Hopper – Rotterdam (NL)

This great spot near the hip Witte de Withstraat has been raising the bar for food and coffee in The Netherland’s second city. They bake their own bread and all dishes are cooked with love. Now they also roast their own coffee.

7. Pascal – Stockholm (SW)

This wonderful café just south of the center is all about home cooked and great coffee. Arman and his team take great care to serve only the best quality and you can certainly taste that.

8. Playground Coffee – Hamburg (DE)

A bit of an odd one out but sometimes all you want is a big burger, some lovely sweet potato fries and a great cuppa Joe. This new coffee / burger combo in Hamburg’s university quarter has all that.
