🇪🇺 European Roasters

Guido – Bucharest, Romania

For a very long time, The Coffeevine had a loyal customer in Braşov, Romania. This coffee shop was run by Andrei Tecau who, a few years ago, sold his shop and joined a pioneering specialty coffee roastery in Bucharest, Guido. One day, Andrei gave us a call and asked if we were interested in working with Guido and indeed we were.

Guido is famed for its multiple initiatives in culture, innovation and technology that take it into areas far beyond coffee. As a socially engaged brand, it wants to foster a culture that is based on core values like respect, transparency and loving your neighbour.

For its long overdue Coffeevine debut, Guido will roast a truly exquisite ‘natural’ processed Red Bourbon from Colombia’s Jefferson Adrian Motta. The reason we put parentheses around natural is because this coffee is wildly exotic and expressive and was probably processed slightly differently to what the producer officially states but it is an absolutely outstanding coffee.

Expect notes of cherry juice and marizpan.

SO – Porto, Portugal

During a visit to Porto last October, I visited the SO coffee roastery. The team behind one of Porto’s best known roasters is very ambitious and includes members like Rui Pedro Bastos Pedrosa, who is a previous Portuguese Barista Champion. SO has a beautiful flag ship café and roastery in the heart of the city where it serves a wide range of exquisite coffees.

However, since SO only sources smaller lots at this time, we had to wait for the perfect moment for this collaboration to take shape. It’s with a lot of pleasure that can finally welcome SO as a Coffeevine partner in August. For its first feature, SO will roast an outstanding washed Kenyan lot from Gatuya. This coffee has a classic profile with blackberry and blueberry notes.

Winok – Schaerbeek, Belgium

A while back, we received an email from a Belgian roaster called Winok. Like many others who reach out to us on a regular basis, Winok was keen to get one of its coffees featured in The Coffeevine. What we instantly loved about Winok was its approach to sustainable and ethical sourcing, often working with our close friends from This Side Up.

The brand is named after Winok the dog, a Belgian Schipperke breed that accompanies founder Nicolas Clarebout everywhere. Most recently, Winok was joined by ex-Brander roaster Steffen Van Malder who roasted some coffee for us before.

This will be Winok’s first Coffeevine feature and for this occasion, we picked a comforting washed Colombian lot from the Asprole Community in Cauca. Expect notes of milk chocolate and plum.

🌍 Global Roasters

Driftaway – New York, USA

Our first Global roaster for the August edition is Driftaway from New York, a previous partner that we’re always happy to welcome back. Driftaway was founded in 2014 by Anu Menon and Suyog Mody, who visionary entrepreneurs who wanted to create meaningful relationships with coffee producers.

Since then, Driftaway has become a formidable force in the New York specialty coffee scene and was awarded ‘Roaster of the Year’ 2026 by Roast Magazine. For its first Coffeevine feature since 2024, Driftaway will roast a truly exceptional Colombian Geisha lot from Franky Hoyos. This coffee offers bright and juicy notes of Jaffa Cakes and vanilla.

🔴 Filter roast only.

Mobydick – Shanghai, China

Our second-ever roaster from the Chinese mainland, Mobydick is an independent specialty coffee brand that focuses on the highest quality coffees. I met the team at the London Coffee Festival this year where we had the opportunity to chat and enjoy some of their coffees at the booth. Mobydick takes its name from Herman Melville’s novel by the same name and sees itself represented by the whale’s untamed nature.

For its Coffeevine debut this August, Mobydick will roast for us an elegant and delicious washed Ethiopian coffee from Suke Kudensa in Guji. This coffee stood out on the cupping table thanks to its pronounced flavour notes consisting of Earl Grey and bergamot.

🔴 Filter roast only.

🌙 Decaf Feature

Calm – London, UK

In August, it’s again Calm’s turn to be our decaf partner. Founded by William Whiting, Calm is a decaf and low-caf specialist based in London and forms part of a trio of such roasters who rotate every month. Will is always on the hunt for surprising, delicious and most importantly relaxing coffees that can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

For this latest Coffeevine feature, Calm will provide us with a bright and juicy Pacamara from Colombia’s Zarza. This lot was processed with a natural and anaerobic fermentation before going through the Sugarcane EA decaffeination process. Expect notes of Turkish delight and violets.

🔴 Filter roast only.

💎 GEMS

Liquid Dream – Cologne, Germany

The 30th GEMS release will see us work with another Coffeevine newcomer, Liquid Dream. Based in Cologne Germany, Liquid Dream was founded by two friends, Julian and Max, who are united by their desire to create special moments with coffee. We picked Liquid Dream to be our GEMS partner in August because we love their adventurous sourcing and the coffees they submitted for our cupping perfectly matched what we’re looking to offer with this selection.

For this release, we’ll offer two separate lots, one from Manuel Marlo Baca at Finca Pacpa in Peru, which is a green tip Geisha and one lot from José del Mar Odoñez in Colombia, which is a Bourbon Pimienta. Expect notes of tropical fruits and elegant florals, respectively.

🔴 Filter roast only.
